Our iconic blue building is a landmark in Alaska’s aviation history. Built in 1932, it originally served as an airplane hangar for many of the the small float plane operators, who would later merge to become today’s Alaska Airlines. 

Since 1996, The Hangar on the Wharf has attracted a crowd that’s every inch as colorful as those adventurous characters who landed here on the water almost a century ago… Juneauites of all ages, visitors from all corners of the globe, politicians, bear hunters, beer experts, and fishermen with tall tales about that one that got away…
